Spirit of the Woods

The woods, whose telltale color boasts,

Of spirit, of magic, whose very air,

Caused men to believe it was full of ghosts,

Yet of it’s true power they were unaware.

The trees though silent and seemingly bare,

And cruelly tethered to mortal ground,

Still in their spirits are frolicking elsewhere,

And in a better realm they will be found.
