Enchanted

Standard

This night is flawless! A full moon rises over the lake on which I was born and raised, where I was baptised, where I’ve dangled my toes while talking with a close friend about life, theology, and marriage, the latter two when mixed react similarly to ammonium and sodium bicarbonate.

There’s a small white boat here, which has a boatload of memories in it. Please excuse the pun… I remember smiling and nodding as the (trop beau) head lifeguard taught me how to drive it, even though I already knew quite well.

The reflection of the full moon in the lake stills my thoughts and, again, I’m reflecting on what matters the most to me in life. I’m also thinking about big issues like purpose, determinism, and free will. I would give a lot for a quiet souled companion right now, but in absence of that, I’ll listen to the crickets, breathe in the night, and try to retain as much of it as possible because in a week, I’ll be in the dirty city, and all this will have faded like a pleasant dream.

Pickup Lines :)

Standard

Because I’m infinitely quotable, here’s a line I’ve said recently:

“Man, your drumming is so awesome. I’m going to add you to the list of deities I believe in…” of course my twin helpfully adds, “yeah, you’re right beside Thor!”

He was like “YES! My life is complete!” 😀

Rainy Days

Standard

Rainy days need hot chocolate. I’m savouring my last week of summer, before life picks up speed again. I’m doing a lot of reflection on the things that are important to me, and listening to australian hip hop. I’m stoked for this new school year. Good things come to those who work hard, entropy comes to those who wait. Time to keep living!

Homies!

Standard

Hi to all my homies! This is a quick update to let you all know how I’m doing. I have just finished doing my time lifeguarding at a Bible camp. It’s been great. I’ve been learning a lot about life, myself, and others, and in that order.

Yes, I still miss Switzerland. There is now a hole in my heart that hasn’t shrunken at all, and doesn’t show any signs of it either. That’s life. Holey. Holey bejeebers I have a lot of holes.

I suppose a shadow side of grief is having such a thin skin about missing things. I’m missing a lot. The northern stars, quiet time, the lake, but especially all the caring people I’ve found at camp. They mean more to me than all the cobwebs of religion. Just to point out the obvious.

Thank you to everyone who has ever listened to me, without the pretenses and assumptions which are characteristic of our fallen nature. Thank you to all of you who read my blog from a non-judgmental stance. Thank you. 😀

I promise to keep up with my blog more in the future! 😀
