This night is flawless! A full moon rises over the lake on which I was born and raised, where I was baptised, where I’ve dangled my toes while talking with a close friend about life, theology, and marriage, the latter two when mixed react similarly to ammonium and sodium bicarbonate.

There’s a small white boat here, which has a boatload of memories in it. Please excuse the pun… I remember smiling and nodding as the (trop beau) head lifeguard taught me how to drive it, even though I already knew quite well.

The reflection of the full moon in the lake stills my thoughts and, again, I’m reflecting on what matters the most to me in life. I’m also thinking about big issues like purpose, determinism, and free will. I would give a lot for a quiet souled companion right now, but in absence of that, I’ll listen to the crickets, breathe in the night, and try to retain as much of it as possible because in a week, I’ll be in the dirty city, and all this will have faded like a pleasant dream.
